The Restoration Project Events

Picture
Our nation has been brought to the brink of chaos, and now we stand at a crossroad.  We have faced an unprecedented pandemic that gripped our economy and claimed tens of thousands of lives. Though the number of deaths from COVID-19 are decreasing, communities are facing a new wave of deaths through rioting and violence that began in protest of the deaths of Ahmaud Arbury, George Floyd, Breonna Taylor and Rayshard Brooks, who all died at the hands of policemen in a five-month span.

Forces bent on violence and destruction quickly took over and reform through peaceful protest has been lost.  News stories are now chronicling the deaths of people killed during the riots rocking communities across the nation. Policemen have been killed or injured, some from bricks and other items thrown at them. Seventy-five policemen in Denver, two shot in Indiana, a Las Vegas policeman shot in the head, two officers in Buffalo struck by a car, the list of injured or killed is growing. David Dorn was left to die in the street while his death was filmed live on social media.

Conversations have disintegrated into spats over historical statues while in the midst of all the confusion children have been killed, some in their homes from stray bullets, while others are mowed down in the midst of the protests. Eleven-year-old Davon McNeil lost his life at a “stop the violence” cookout over the fourth of July weekend. Eight-year-old Royta Giles was shot at a mall in Alabama. Seven-year-old Natalia Wallace was shot while playing outside her grandmother’s home. Eight-year-old Secoria Turner lost her life at the hands of “protesters” in Atlanta when the car she was in tried to make a U turn. Georgia Governor Kemp immediately responded calling out 1,000 National Guard troops following a burst of violence across Atlanta that left four dead. America is at the precipice of another civil war and It has become abundantly clear we can no longer sit on the sidelines.

The urgency to cry out for God’s mercy is greater than ever because the lines of good and evil are clearer. America is caught in a spiritual war that can only be fought and won through prayer.

  • You are asked to pray Psalm 51 from the New Living Translation as found here substituting America or the Name of your state as follows:

1 Have mercy on America (your state), O God,
    because of your unfailing love.
Because of your great compassion,
    blot out the stain of our sins.
2  Wash us clean from our guilt.
    Purify us from our sin.
3  For we recognize our rebellion;
    it haunts us day and night.
4  Against you, and you alone, have we sinned;
    We have done what is evil in your sight.
You will be proved right in what you say,
    and your judgment against us is just. [a]
5  For we were born a sinner--
    yes, from the moment our mother conceived us.
6  But you desire honesty from the womb, [b]
    teaching us wisdom even there.
7  Purify us from our sins, [c]  and we will be clean;
    wash us, and we will be whiter than snow.
8  Oh, give us back our joy again;
    you have broken us--
    now let us rejoice.
9  Don’t keep looking at our sins.
    Remove the stain of our guilt.
10  Create in us a clean heart, O God.
    Renew a loyal spirit within us.
11  Do not banish us from your presence,
    and don’t take your Holy Spirit [d]  from us.
12  Restore to us the joy of your salvation,
    and make us willing to obey you.
13  Then we will teach your ways to rebels,
    and they will return to you.
14  Forgive us for shedding blood, O God who saves;
    then we will joyfully sing of your forgiveness.
15  Unseal our lips, O Lord,
    that our mouth may praise you.
16  You do not desire a sacrifice, or we would offer one.
    You do not want a burnt offering.
17  The sacrifice you desire is a broken spirit.
    You will not reject a broken and repentant heart, O God.
18  Look with favor on America and help her;
    rebuild the walls of our nation.
19  Then you will be pleased with sacrifices offered in the right spirit--
    with burnt offerings and whole burnt offerings.
    Then bulls will again be sacrificed on your altar.
